ETH AI Club
ETH Zurich's students & staff volunteer association on AI, which I co-founded in March 2026. 250+ members learning, building, and shipping AI together.
ETH AI Club is the students & staff volunteer association on Artificial Intelligence at ETH Zurich. Fittingly for a community that treats everyone as equals, it was founded by two students and two staff members. We are non-profit, open to the whole ETH Zurich community regardless of background or experience, and English is our language.
Why. ETH Zurich brings together some of the world’s strongest talent, yet there was no student-and-staff-led space where that talent could meet as peers and take their AI learning and building further. So we built one. Responsible AI is part of our definition, not an afterthought.
What we do. Hands-on workshops, study groups, and peer learning early on; build sprints and demo nights as projects take shape. The Club also gives members’ work visibility and access to infrastructure they might not otherwise have.
Traction. Within six months of founding: 250+ registered members, from students to administrative staff to professors. Our first ETH AI Club Demo Night (May 2026) and the Anthropic–ETH AI Sprint (June 2026) brought together 60 members and 10 projects — 5 from students and 5 from staff, including 2 professors. 40 members received over CHF 10,000 in Claude API credits and licenses through the Club to accelerate their AI journey.
Backers. AVETH, the association of ETH Zurich’s scientific staff, and the ETH AI Center supported the Club from day one.
